Fr. Dominic Farewell
August 3rd, was Fr Dominic’s last Sunday with us before his move to St Mary’s in Swindon. In appreciation of his three and a half years at St Michael’s, parishioners had made a collection, and a cheque was presented to him at the end of Mass.
Afterwards people of all ages took the opportunity to say a last goodbye and thank you to Fr Dominic at a Bring and Share get-together in the parish room. Grateful thanks to all who helped make the occasion special. He leaves with our prayers for every blessing in his new parish.
Celebrating our Diversity
We celebrated our Diversity last Sunday. The flags of the represented nations were brought to the alter with the offering. They will remain in front of the altar for a little while to remind us of the blessing they bring to the parish. A wonderful spread of food from all the nationalities were on offer after Mass for us to enjoy.
Knights of Columba Initiation
Congratulations to Tom Yardley who was initiated into the Knights of St Columba during Mass on September 1st. The ceremony was conducted by Bro. Séan Smith, Grand Knight (acting) of the Poole & Branksome Council. His parish is St Joseph & St Walburga parish in Poole where the parish priest is Fr Chris Findlay-Wilson, brother of Fr Dominic.
