CAFOD: FAMILY FAST DAY Friday 3rd October Thank you for observing Family Fast Day and identifying with our brothers and sisters in need. Last Sunday’s Gospel calls us to live our lives with empathy, generosity and a commitment to justice. May we be moved to action and be witnesses of Christ’s love and compassion in our world today. Please give your donations in at the end of this weekend’s Masses. If you have forgotten it we do have some spares! Season of Creation: Saturday 4th October marks the end of the formal Season of Creation. It is the Feast of St Francis of Assisi who left us such wonderful prayers of Praise and Thanks to God for our amazing and troubled planet. We have just observed Family Fast Day which reminds us that we are all inter-connected with each other and the well-being of the Earth, God’s Creation. Prayer for the Care of Creation God of Hope, give us the grace to love, celebrate, respect and protect all you have created. Help us to use wisely and justly all that you have entrusted to us so that we hear and respond to “the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor.” Fill us with your Spirit so that we may work towards building your kingdom of justice, peace, hope and love. We ask this in Christ’s name who came to proclaim the Good News to all creation.
