MICHAELMAS 29TH SEPTEMBER - Patronal Feast Day for St Michael
This year the feast day falls on a Monday and there will be a Mass celebrated at 6pm at St Michael’s. This day has been celebrated since the early days of Christianity and holds particular significance within the Western Christian tradition.
After the celebration you are invited to tea and coffee in the Parish Room and the first Vision meeting (formerly known as the PPC meeting), which will be chaired by Fr Mark, to celebrate the parish and to set the three focuses going forward. The meeting will end at 8.30pm
STARTING SCHOOL?
If you have a child born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022, then now is the time to apply for a place at a primary school for admission from September 2026 onwards. You must complete an application form that is available from the school admissions team of Somerset Council. If your child has been baptised and you are applying for a Catholic school, you must also provide a copy of the baptism certificate to the school. Please ensure you apply by the closing date of 15 January 2026.
ST PETER’S LIFELINE
Please take a moment to look at the board at the back of the church where you can read all about David Baldwin’s recent trip to Kenya with his family and some of the wonderful work his charity is doing there. He says “our goal is to help lift a community out of poverty through; education, feeding programmes, micro-finance for women and disabled, caring for the disabled, ...” There are many ways you can contribute towards their causes, and every little bit that you commit goes a long way. 100% of the money you give reaches the St Peter's community – there is no charge at all to run or administer the charity (unavoidable bank and card charges excepted). Learn more about how you can get involved, go to www.stpeterslifeline.org.uk

CAFOD Family Fast Day Appeal this Harvest October 3rd.
Please donate to our Family Fast Day parish collection to share God’s abundant gifts with our global neighbours as they find lasting solutions to poverty and climate challenges. Your generosity offers “signs of hope” in this Jubilee Year, helping build more water tanks in communities like Waré’s in Ethiopia where women have to walk for hours to get water. Use the CAFOD envelope in church, donate online at cafod.org.uk/envelope or call 0303 303 3030. You can also text CAFOD to 70560 to donate £10.
