Stations of the Cross

Meditate on Christ’s journey to the cross. As you walk through the Stations of the Cross, take time to pray and reflect on where you see Christ in our world.

All start by saying:

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

 
 

Station 1. Jesus is condemned to death

Jesus is scourged and crowned with thorns having been unjustly condemned by Pontius Pilate to die on the cross.

V. (Genuflecting) We adore you, O Christ, and praise you.
R. Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.

All: I love you, Jesus, my love above all things, And I repent with my whole heart of having offended you.

Never permit me to separate myself from you again, Grant that I may love you always, and then do with me what you will.


Station 2. Jesus takes up his cross

Jesus accepts His Cross and in making this journey with it on his shoulders, thought of us, and offered to his Father the death he was about to undergo.

V. (Genuflecting) We adore you, O Christ, and praise you.
R. Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.

All: I love you, Jesus, my love above all things, And I repent with my whole heart of having offended you.

Station 3. Jesus falls the first time

When Jesus falls for the first time, he is so weakened he could scarcely walk. Yet he has to carry the great load of the Cross upon his shoulders.

V. (Genuflecting) We adore you, O Christ, and praise you.
R. Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.

All: I love you, Jesus, my love above all things, And I repent with my whole heart of having offended you.

Station 4. Jesus meets his mother

When Jesus meets his mother, their looks became like so many arrows to wound those hearts which love each other so tenderly.

V. (Genuflecting) We adore you, O Christ, and praise you.

Station 5. Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus to carry his cross

Station 6. Veronica wipes the face of Jesus

Station 7. Jesus falls the second time

Station 8. The women of Jerusalem weep for Our Lord

Station 9. Jesus falls the third time

Station 10. Jesus is stripped of his clothes

Station 11. Jesus is nailed to the cross

Station 12. Jesus dies on the cross

Station 13. Jesus is taken down from the cross
